Her practice primarily focuses on business banking and finance, corporate law, and mergers and acquisitions. Meet Christen Triche, NABL member since 2024.
Tell us a little bit about yourself, including how you found your way to working in bond law.
I graduated from LSU Law School in 2022 and worked as a litigation associate for my first year of practice. I started working on bond deals when I began at Fishman Haygood in January 2024.
What inspired you to join NABL this year?
One of the partners I work for recommended that I join NABL and attend The Essentials conference when I started assisting him with bond deals. I am glad he did, as I find myself referencing NABL materials on a weekly basis!
You attended The Essentials in April 2024. Tell us about a key takeaway you learned from the conference.
The Essentials helped me to understand the “big picture” of bond law and answered questions I did not know I had. Each of the speakers was passionate about their work and seemed willing to help young lawyers learn and grow.
What advice would you give to law students upon landing their first job?
I would encourage them to be curious and ask questions. The most frustrating assignments in my first year were those that I tried to complete without asking certain questions because I thought they were silly. No one expects you to know everything right out of law school, so take advantage of the learning opportunities as much as possible.
What is your favorite podcast, book, and/or TV show?
My favorite podcast is the All-In Podcast. A book I recently read and enjoyed is Atomic Habits by James Clear.
